Define the Problem
It was challenging to figure out a way to engage the third graders because we feared that they wouldn't be interested. Since they are third graders we thought it might be hard to get their attention since that's maybe what they didn't want to hear. We wanted to make it engaging because we hoped that they would learn from what we would say. We made it engaging to the kids by having 2 different activities. In the two activities the kids would be involved so they can be engaged.
Research
Cesar and I had the topic of solar energy. It is a wide ranged subject because you have to cover other subjects that relate to solar energy. We researched about wind, photosynthesis, heat, and electricity. Solar energy relates to wind because solar energy creates wind, from uneven heating of the air on earth. There is many ways to use the sun's heat for a lot like having a solar oven, and have the sun cook your food. Photosynthesis is important because the plants actually create their own food with the sun. It's very important to have photosynthesis because without it we wouldn't have fresh air.

Design
After researching we agreed to have two activities which where the solar oven and have the magnifying glass burn the wood. We made a materials list to plan what we were going to need for each activity and who was in charge of bringing it.

Present for Feedback
We were told that our workshop had to last a span of thirty minutes. There was a whole week of all of the class presenting their workshop. When it was me and my partners turn to present we ready and knew what we were gonna talk about. Something I'm proud of was during our presentation we had the class interested. When it was time for the engage activity we passed all the necessary materials. Our peers started building and before we knew it was time to start cleaning up but some of the groups weren't done building the oven. Other than going over time everything else went well and we got great feedback.

Select Best Solution
After presenting we looked at the feedback and my partner and I were discussing on how we can improve. Our Plan was to cut down the time of our engage activity which was the building of the solar oven by having more clear instructions. Also we decided to go deeper in some of the topics because it wasn't clear for some people. We needed to be more specific when we were explaining things because it was sometimes confusing for the audience
